Lupus is a chronic auto-immune condition which can be debilitating and even life-threatening. There is no information about how common this condition is in Australia. Widely misunderstood, individuals with lupus are often misdiagnosed or live without a diagnosis for lengthy periods of time. Lupus Association Queensland (LAQ) dreams of a world without lupus, and its members are actively involved in seeing that dream become a reality. LAQ is an organisation consisting completely of individuals who have or are affected by lupus. We do not have staff, bureaucrats, or anyone involved who does not understand lupus and its possible devastating effects. It is our hope that in the pages of this website you will find:

Lupus can be a lonely, confusing, and disheartening experience. All of us at LAQ have felt the despair that can come from a diagnosis of not only a major life-altering chronic condition, but also an extremely misunderstood one.
